Day 1​

I've been stubborn about making a portal anyway Why not start? After a lot of really hard work, I managed to get the forum to show some random page, no matter what it is. The important thing is that when I click on the button, it takes me to my template...... As I said some time ago, it's a total mishmash, or I still can't understand the logic in XenForo, but the important thing is that there is progress

Do you like MySQL? It's impossible not to say that this is one of the things I really don't want to deal with. But..... if it were easy, it wouldn't be interesting!

Finally, damn it, I did it. Now the ability to add widgets should be added...............

Day 3​

And errors and errors aaaaaannnnnnd errors........ I don't like this. Creating a simple widget is also difficult. Why the hell? A wonderful system for users and a nightmare for developers. And so......

Maybe it will finally work as it should Let's hope it doesn't crash during testing, but if it's meant to be, it will. I just need to say "Oh yeah baby" It may not look good..... but the fact that I now have a homepage for the portal, with a good layout of the elements, is a huge achievement for me.....

Finally, damn it, I have a news ticker. Literally, the problem with it was solved by magic, I don't know how, but it still works now.........

Damn, I finally managed to get a widget with the threads So, now I need to fix the image problem, and change the CSS code because it looks too worky.

Day 6​

After fifteen attempts, a lot of nerves, and a few days, the portal finally has its own widget that shows the last four threads with an image and a short text. Now I understand why most developers don't tackle xenforo, because it's mega difficult, but it's still a challenge and a huge adventure.

I already have a widget that shows a certain number of threads from a specific forum, I'm thinking of adding an option to show the threads with the latest posts, but we'll see.... It's really crazy. It's coming along really well and the portal will soon look like a real portal, which makes me very happy. Of course, there's still a lot of work to do to refine the design, fix the code and things like that, but the result so far is impressive (at least for me).

Day 7​

And so my portal is shaping up very well. I learn new things every day, and the more I play with CSS, the more I enjoy working with it. I have a few ideas, but we'll see if they come to fruition. There are a lot of things to consider when creating something like this for Xenforo, but it's fun, that's an undeniable fact. I'm moving forward boldly, towards the first official version of the portal, which I hope to release soon.

Okay.... XenBg Portal add-on is ready for official release. I'm very tired and have a terrible headache, but it was worth it. Beautiful, unique, not to mention a perfect way to show the best of your forum. Honestly, I didn't believe I would succeed, maybe I was lucky again, but the end result is more than good. Well, my dear developer diary, this concludes my seventh day working on my portal.

Let someone tell me again that it's too expensive! Another problem, but with CSS, most likely not from the new XenForo update, but I have no idea where exactly the problem comes from.
Edit:
From my SEO add-on it is 0_O After I uninstalled it the problem disappeared. I have no idea why but I will check. The good thing is that the news ticker is now working properly and the option to choose from which forums to display threads has been added.

Day 12​

Slider made, Slider added The upcoming update of the XenBg Portal add-on will delight you with its incredible slider that does not overload the database thanks to the fact that it uses the XenForo system for featured content, threads, products, and resources. This was the main goal of the task, to make a slider that does not create additional tables in the database, does not use 30mb of unnecessary code, and is easy to use. Of course, there are some minor cosmetic fixes to be made, but that will be after a short and well-deserved break. Hooray, hooray, we have the best slider.

Day 13​

Finally the portal adds the first picture from the first post of the thread as the main picture. Hurray Hurray I finally succeeded with this Unfortunately, the big problem is with the CSS and adjusting the title in the correct way and position. But after a short break, I'll pick it up again.

Day 14​

This is why I love XenForo! Finally, another improvement to the portal. I was missing the picture at the top of every post, but now it's there, and it's not hard to put it, you just need to add at least one picture to the first post and that's it!
